Un musée, c’est habituellement une architecture, des espaces, des vitrines, des collections, un système qui régit la vision et la conservation. Mais ici, le musée n’est plus d’abord et par dessus tout un espace construit, mais plutôt un imaginaire, une manière d’exposer et une série de relations en continuelle structuration. Les travaux, les images, les textes, les publications, les espaces, enfin les regardeurs constituent un musée qui n’existe pas.
Comment construire un musée sans construire un musée ? Du 13 au 18 juillet 2026, treize artistes et designers graphiques venus de différents pays se sont retrouvés à Ravisius Textor à Nevers, sous la direction d’ Ines Cox, Nana Esi et Sharon van Overmeiren, pour une semaine de résidence artistique et d’école d’été.
À Nevers ils ont approché la réplique comme un moyen d’accéder à quelque chose d’inaccessible – pas comme copie mais comme déplacement, comme translation-traduction qui déporte plutôt que d’aller droit. Une feuille de papier, un morceau de tissu, une erreur ou un arrangement accidentel peuvent aussi bien constituer le point de départ d’une œuvre. La production a progressivement pris forme au travers d’un processus de continuelle expérimentation, d’échanges et de manipulation.
Almost There (Presque là-bas, Presque arrivés) est la rétrospective du travail produit durant cette semaine : un musée qui en reste à un état de non résolution. Il ne s’agit pas simplement d’une présentation des résultats de la résidence, mais de la reconstruction de l’état d’un « musée en travail ». L’exposition consiste en quatre portes figurées échelle un qui mènent à l’espace projeté par un des groupes. Elles présentent les projets et sont en même temps le moyen d’y accéder. Ce qui demeure là sont des fragments, des objets, des images et des imaginaires de la semaine. Ces éléments se reprennent, renvoient les uns aux autres pour créer sans cesse de nouveaux espaces.

A museum usually implies architecture, rooms, display cases, collections, and a system of order around viewing and preservation. But here, the museum is not first and foremost a building, but an imagination, a way of exhibiting, and a series of continuously emerging relationships. Works, images, texts, publications, spaces, and viewers together constitute a museum that does not exist.
How can we build a museum without building a museum? from July 13 to 18, 2026, 13 artists and graphic designers from different countries gathered at Ravisius Textor in Nevers, under the organisation of Ines Cox, Nana Esi & Sharon van Overmeiren, for a week-long artistic residency and summer school.
In Nevers, we approached the replica as a way to access something that cannot be accessed — not as a copy, but as a shift, a translation that moves sideways rather than forward. A sheet of paper, a piece of material, a mistake, or an accidental combination could all become a starting point for a work. The works gradually took shape through a continuous process of experimentation, exchange, and making.
Almost There is a retrospective of the work produced during this week, a museum remains in the state before completion. It is not simply a presentation of the outcomes of the residency, but a reconstruction of the state of “the museum in the making.” The exhibition unfolds through four life-size, flat portals, each leading to a space imagined by one of the groups. They both present the projects and become a way of entering them. What remains here are fragments, objects, images, and imaginations from that week. They replicate one another, point to one another, and continuously create new spaces.
